What to Bring and How to Prepare for the DuoDuo Free Trial Lesson
For the DuoDuo Kidz Academy free trial you need very little: choose one language, bring your child rested and fed, and bring any recent schoolwork in that language if you have it. The trial is one 60-minute, single-language, 1-to-1 lesson with no payment and nothing to sign. The most useful preparation is simply telling your child they are going to meet a teacher who will play word games with them.

Choose one language before you come
The trial covers one language, so decide in advance whether it is Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia or English. Pick the one you worry about most, not the one your child is best at. A trial in the weak language shows you far more about how the teacher works.
If you are unsure, tell the team on WhatsApp what school your child attends and what you have noticed. A child in SJK(C) whose BM is weak, or a child in SK who cannot read Chinese, will get a clear recommendation.
What to bring
There is no equipment to buy. DuoDuo Kidz Academy provides the teaching materials, so the list is short.
- Your child, rested and not hungry
- A recent exercise book, spelling list or test paper in the trial language, if available
- A water bottle
- Any questions you want answered about the programmes or the nearest branch
How to prepare your child in one sentence
Keep it light. Something like “you are going to meet a teacher who will show you some words and play a few games” is enough. Avoid calling it a test, and avoid promising rewards for doing well, because the teacher wants to see your child's natural level, not a performance.
If your child is shy, say that the teacher will be just for them and there will be no other children in the lesson. For many children this is the detail that makes them willing to walk in.
What happens during the 60 minutes
The teacher spends the first part finding your child's level through questions and small tasks, then teaches at that level for the rest of the session. Teachers guide with questions and never give answers directly, so you may notice your child being asked to try again rather than being told.
You are welcome to wait at the centre. At the end the teacher will show you what your child could do, where the gaps are, and what a starting plan would look like.
After the trial
There is no obligation. Take the teacher's feedback home, talk it over, and decide in your own time. If you do continue, the trial lesson becomes the first entry on your child's personal progress chart.
To book, WhatsApp DuoDuo Kidz Academy at 011-2828 8676 with your child's age, school and the language you would like to try. The team is available Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 7:00pm.
