Holiday Programmes vs Year-Round Learning: What Actually Works?
Year-round, level-based learning works better than holiday programmes for anything that has to be built step by step, such as word recognition, suku kata or phonics, because those skills need daily repetition over months rather than intensity over two weeks. Holiday programmes are still worth it for exposure, confidence and keeping routines alive during a long break. A holiday programme compresses learning into a short burst. That works for a craft skill or a science project.
