Teaching Jobs in Penang: DuoDuo Alma and Bayan Lepas Are Hiring

DuoDuo Bayan Lepas and DuoDuo Alma: two Penang branches, one method

DuoDuo Kidz Academy serves Penang families from two branches. The Alma branch in Bukit Mertajam serves the mainland, including Seberang Perai and the many SJK(C) schools around it. The Bayan Lepas branch serves the island's south, where dual-income families working in the Free Industrial Zone need after-school care with real learning.

Both branches run the same three programmes for ages 4 to 12: the 1-to-1 Trilingual Language Programme, the Educare After-School Programme and the Holistic Preschool Programme. Teachers at either branch are trained in the same DuoDuo method.

Roles open in Penang

We hire for three teaching roles, and each can be a starting point for a longer career with DuoDuo.

• 1-to-1 Trilingual Tutor (full-time or part-time): teaches Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia or English one child at a time using the staircase word-recognition system
• Educare Teacher (full-time): guides homework, teaches a daily 1-to-1 lesson and communicates with parents in the after-school programme
• Preschool Teacher (full-time): theme-based small-class teaching for ages 4 to 6 in the morning
• Senior teachers may progress to Centre Principal or Branch Leader

Languages and qualifications we look for

Penang families are largely Chinese-speaking, and children attend both SJK(C) and SK schools, so Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia are the working languages in both branches. English is an advantage, and a tutor strong in one language can still be a great fit because lessons are taught one language at a time.

The minimum qualification is SPM, STPM or a Diploma. Fresh graduates from Penang's colleges and universities are welcome; full training and certification in the DuoDuo method are provided after you join.

Hours, pay and benefits

Preschool roles run weekday mornings; Educare and 1-to-1 roles are busiest weekday afternoons until early evening. Weekends are generally free, which many teachers with families value.

All full-time roles come with a competitive salary plus incentives, EPF, SOCSO and EIS. Part-time tutors are paid for fixed committed hours and receive the same training.

• Competitive salary plus incentives
• EPF, SOCSO and EIS
• Structured training and certification provided
• Promotion path to Branch Leader
• Chance to help open new branches in Penang and beyond

Why teachers stay with DuoDuo Kidz Academy

DuoDuo has 14 years of teaching experience, has served more than 10,000 families, and holds a 4.9 out of 5 parent rating. Teachers tell us the one-teacher-one-child model is the reason they stay: you see the moment a child goes from “cannot” to “I can”, and you see it every day. Want to know exactly how we teach?
