How to Check if a Tuition Centre Is Registered with KPM in Malaysia
To check whether a tuition centre is registered with KPM (Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia), ask the centre to show its registration certificate issued through the state education department (JPN), check that the name and address on it match the premises, and look for the registration displayed at the entrance. Tuition centres and tadika fall under KPM/JPN; childcare centres (taska) for children under 4 fall under JKM; every business should also have an SSM registration. Any centre with nothing to hide, including DuoDuo Kidz Academy, will show you these documents at the branch.

kpm tuition centre: who registers what in Malaysia
Parents typing kpm tuition centre usually want one thing: to know the place they are about to trust with their child is legitimate. Malaysia splits that responsibility between agencies, and knowing which one applies saves you from asking the wrong question.
- Tuition centres (pusat tuisyen): registered with the Ministry of Education (KPM) through the state education department, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri (JPN), under the Education Act 1996
- Kindergartens (tadika) for ages 4 to 6: also registered with KPM through JPN
- Childcare centres (taska) for children under 4: registered with the Department of Social Welfare, Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM), under the Child Care Centre Act 1984
- Every centre, whatever the type: registered as a business with SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia)
What the certificate and signboard should show
A registered tuition centre or tadika will have a certificate from JPN. It is normally displayed near the entrance or reception, and a centre that keeps it in a drawer should be able to produce it on request. Check three things on it.
- The registered name matches the name on the signboard or is the legal entity behind that brand
- The registered address is the premises you are standing in, not a different branch or an old location
- The certificate is current, and the type of registration matches what the centre says it does (tuition, tadika or taska)
How to verify beyond the wall
If you want to check further, the state JPN office can confirm whether a centre is registered with them, and SSM's public search lets you look up a company by name or number. A legitimate centre will give you its company name and registration number without hesitation.

Questions that reveal more than a certificate
Registration tells you a centre exists legally. It does not tell you whether the teaching is any good. Ask these on the same visit.
- Who teaches my child, and can I meet that teacher?
- How do you find out my child's real level before teaching?
- Is there a written progress record I can see?
- What is your homework policy, and what happens when it is not finished?
- Will I see my child tested, or only receive a report?
- Who is on the premises from school dismissal until pick-up?
How DuoDuo answers those questions
At DuoDuo Kidz Academy, every language lesson is one teacher to one child, taught at the child's level rather than the syllabus level. Teachers guide with questions and never give answers directly. Each child has a personal progress chart (个人专属进度表), and word-recognition tests are done live in front of parents. Homework is checked for understanding, and if it is unfinished the parent hears the same day with the reason.
The brand has 14 years of teaching experience, more than 10,000 families served, a 4.9/5 average parent rating and six branches: KL Setapak Danau Kota, KL Wangsa Maju, Taiping, Alma (Bukit Mertajam), Bayan Lepas and Melaka Semabok.
Visit, check, then try a lesson
Ask to see the documents, then ask to see the teaching. Both matter, and a centre that is confident in one is usually confident in the other.
